Technically, the definition of a byway (via thefreedictionary.com) is just "A secondary or side road, esp in the country." People tend to associate the word "byway" with the "scenic route," though. For this blog, that's the definition I'll be playing with, as sometimes my scenic route is really a highway, not secondary at all. Other times it's so small, it's not even worth being called a "side road."
Technically, the definition of me would be: Deirdre. Female. Mid-twenties. From my friends, though, the definition would look something more like, "Deirdre. She's never around. Don't call-she won't answer. But if you email her, you'll eventually get a really long and fairly entertaining account of exactly why it took her a month to respond to that invitation to the party you had last week."
